Hello from Spain.
I have several models of Swiss Army Knives and I bought two more for my collection few days ago.
My old knives had the following inscription o the blade: “Victorinox Switzerland Stainless Rostfrei” and back: OFFICIER SUISSE and two symbols: + and other.
The new blades only: “Victorinox swiss made Stainless” and back: “Officier Suisse” and no symbols.
The blade of the new knives is thinner .
Why these changes? I believe that there is getting lost a classic engraving of our Swiss Army Knives.
Best wishes, Alon
Thank you very much for your request and being interested in our products. I am pleased to answer your question.
The production of the officer knives, pocket- and multi tools, household and professional knives is established in Ibach since the foundation in 1884. It is the birth place of the Swiss Army Knife. With Victorinox on the blade and the Victorinox Emblem (cross and shield) on the handle you own the Original Swiss Army Knife.
New Victorinox marking:
Since 2005, the new marking is successively used as standard. It was adapted to reach a uniform appearance for all pocket- and multi tools.
