<>pelikan自从诞生以来一直是钢笔爱好者的追崇目标，其中还有一个原因，就是pelikan制造各种尺寸的钢笔。同样的Pelikan Souveran系列，尺寸大小变化，可以让所有的爱好者都能够找到一支最适合自己手掌尺寸的钢笔。就好像羽毛球，网球爱好者，自己的球拍，自己的grip size,绝对不会发生什么削足适履的事情。虽然钢笔尺寸对于书写来说，影响不是致命性的，但是各自都会有自己的握笔姿势，在有选择的情况下， 当然可以选择“最适合的”。 </P>

<>图一显示，从巨型的M1000，到mini size的M300，笔的直径有这么多档次。值得注意的是，250和200系列是和400系列同样尺寸的，只是低端设计，和400比较，镀金装饰线少了两条，笔帽的那一截镀金也没有了。相比来说稍微不够正装装扮，但是别忘记，M200有透明演示系列（如图2），也是超cool的日常用笔身。

本人最喜欢的笔身尺寸是M400的尺寸，原因么，首先，非常轻，其次，笔帽盖上很短，正好放在衬衫口袋里，最重要的一点是，既不会在口袋里露出一大截，而且，因为重量轻，不会使得口袋形成“耷拉状”。正式场合好极了。</P>
<>别忘记了，pelikan的笔尖是可以互换的，很多爱好者都喜欢干一件事（我也是其中之一），把透明M200的不锈钢笔尖取下，换上M400的14K笔尖。这样的配合，手感上没有任何不同（笔杆同尺寸），但是透明的笔身，里面各种不同颜色的墨水，加上14K双色笔尖，实在是吸引眼球的好工具。</P>

<>The nib is the heart of the Pelikan fountain pen. It is cut from a 14 or 18 carat gold sheet and subsequently punched, formed and stamped into its classic quill-shaped appearance.

<>铱合金的笔尖，是用来书写的时候和纸张接触的部分。金子很软，一会儿就磨损了，所以不能用金子直接制作笔尖，而是要在头上焊接上一个铱合金的笔尖。（基础知识了，不多说了）The tip of the nib is made of iridium, a refined metal of the the platinum group. It is welded to the front part of the gold nib and subsequently form-grinded, slotted and polished.</P>
<P>检测The quality is constantly checked. The nibs are subjected to numerous mechanical, manual and optical tests at each stage of production.</P>
<P>
抛光The nibs are rotated in a water tank for 24 hours where they are polished by thousands of small porcelain particles. This process eliminates any rough seams which may be left. A final polish is then given to the nibs with minute copper balls.</P>
<P>After more than 30 high-precision operations, the gold nibs are eventually ready for use. Here is a traditional quality product bearing the unique features of its trade mark.</P>
